At Cracking Nuts HQ we have been enjoying the wonderful wild garlic that grows right on our door step here in North Devon.
Wild Garlic has many interesting names ‘bear’s garlic’, ‘devil’s garlic’, ‘gypsy’s onions’ and ‘stinking Jenny’ are just some of them. This seasonal ingredient gives off an incredibly pungent smell in the wild. Unlike common cultivated garlic, it’s the leaves that are eaten rather than the bulbs. The taste is more delicate too, similar to the flavour of chives.
So Cracking Nuts have been out and about, foraging the wild garlic and got busy in the kitchen roasting Wild Garlic Peanuts!
This Sunday at Real Food in Barnstaple Pannier Market you can sample and purchase our one time only seasonal wild garlic nuts.
Let us know what you think, love them or dislike them we value all you feedback.
